TERMS AND CONDITIONS

We value your business. All bookings with Alpinia Limited (Le Grand Joux) are subject to the following conditions. This contract will be governed in accordance with English law. Please make sure you read these Terms and Conditions before making the booking.

Those wishing to pay by credit card with Mastercard , Visa or Paypal a fee will be added to the booking price. No additional fee will be added for those wishing to pay by bank transfer, debit card or cheque.


1. AMENDMENTS BY YOU
a) Amendments must be confirmed in writing, signed by you or any authorised member of your group. They will come into effect on the day they are received and agreed by Alpinia Limited in writing. You agree to indemnify Alpinia Limited for any reasonable expenses incurred in making an admendment whether or not Alpinia Limited succeeds in confirming your request.
b)Alpinia Limited cannot accept any change of dates once your booking is confirmed. Any changes will be deemed as a cancellation. Please see clause 2 below.


2. CANCELLATION BY YOU
a) Any cancellation will come into effect the day written notice is received by Alpinia Limited and will be refunded as shown in the table below. Recorded delivery is strongly recommended. Before arrival % of booking price refunded.

b) Depending on the reason for your cancellation, you may be able to reclaim these charges under the terms of your insurance policy.
c) Additional services requested are not covered.


3. AMENDMENTS BY ALPINIA LIMTED
a) We reserve the right to advise you of changes to your holiday both before and after you make a reservation. An amendment made prior to arrival which is deemed to be significant by Alpinia Limited (for example a change of dates) gives you the right to cancel the holiday if you so choose. Should you cancel in such circumstances you will receive a full refund) excluding insurance premiums and additional services).
b) Please note that Alpinia Limited cannot pay expenses, costs or losses incurred by you as a result of any change or cancellation and shall not be liable for any refund should Alpinia Limted be forced to cancel or change your holiday due to circumstances amounting to Force Majeure. Such circumstances shall include, but are not limited to, war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorism, industrial disruption, natural disasters, fire, technical problems, adverse weather, governmental action and similar events beyond our control.


4. CANCELLATION BY ALPINIA LIMITED.
a) In all cases, Alpinia Limited reserves the right to cancel your holiday for the dates you have reserved.This is extremely unlikely, but should this event occur you will be fully refunded and compensated as in clause 3.
b) If you fail to pay the balance of the booking price or other costs before the due dates, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation with no refund to you.


5. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES.
a) As part of this contract you hereby agree to guarantee payment for any chargeable services requested by any member of your group both before and during your holiday.
b) Please treat the Lodge and all Alpinia Limited property with care and respect, this is to, but not restricted to: a strict no smoking policy in the Lodge, no outside shoes are to be worn inside the Lodge, Alpinia Limited are entitled to recover the cost of any damage caused by any member of your group before departure of the Lodge. Behaviour deemed unacceptable by Alpinia Limited will result in the termination of your holiday and shall have no right to a refund for your holiday or any expenses incurred as a result of the termination.
c) It is your responsibility to provide written details of any allergies suffered by any member of your group. We will not be liable in the event of any allergic reaction should this information not be provided.


6. PRICE GUARANTEE.
a) Once your holiday has been booked its price will be fixed, in spite of any currency fluctuations. However, we reserve the right to amend our tariffs at any time before your reservation and you will be notified if any such amendment has been made.


7. HEALTH, PASSPORTS AND VISAS
a) It is your responsibility to ensure that documents are in proper order before you travel. Alpinia Limited accepts no responsibility for any loss or inconvenience caused as a result of your failure to take reasonable care in this respect.
b) EU Nationals are advised to hold a full passport valid for the duration of the holiday and for at least six months after the journey home. Please note that all children including infants require their own passports. Neither vaccinations nor visas are currently required to enter France. However, pregnant mothers are advised to obtain clearance to fly both from their doctor and airline if their pregnancy will exceed 28 weeks on the date of return travel.
c) Non-EU Nationals traveling to France: Please contact your local French Consulate, the French visa service in London (telephone +44 (0) 20 7073 1250) or the French Embassy website> www.ambafrance.org.uk


8. TRANSPORT
a) Please advise Alpinia Limited of your flight arrangements at least four weeks prior to, departure requesting any transfers if applicable.
b) Alpinia Limited cannot be held responsible for clients missing flights for any reason or mislaying travel documents, and no credit or refund will be given if you fail to take up a component of your holiday as a result.


9. PROBLEMS
a) If you are unhappy with any aspect of your holiday, you must address your complaint immediately to the Lodge Manager and service provider. In the unlikely event that your problem cannot be resolved locally you must inform Alpinia Limited in writing within 14 days of your return so that any rights to compensation can be examined.
b) If you dispute cannot be settled amicably, it may be referred to arbitration under an inexpensive scheme devised and administered by the Chartered Institute of Arbitration of the UK. It does not apply to claims which are solely or mainly in respect of physical injury or exceed GBP1,500 per person or GBP7,500 per booking.


10. END OF WEEK PAYMENTS
a) Upon request, Alpinia Limited will make purchases on your behalf both before and during your holiday. To enable us to do so, credit card details will be requested as a guarantee prior to your arrival in resort. Please note that any such purchases must be settled in full at the end of your holiday in local currency, Euros.


11. SECURITY AND DAMAGE DEPOSIT
a) A 10% security deposit is requested at the time of final payment for your holiday. This money is held during your stay and will be fully refunded within 14 days of the end of your holiday.
b) If there is any damage or unpaid services that have not been settled before you finish your holiday, Alpinia Limited reserves the right to take the equivalent funds from the security and damage deposit. If the funds are not sufficient to cover the damage or unpaid services then the client is to pay the difference within 7 days of the end of their holiday.


12.SKIING WITH ALPINIA LIMITED
a) It is the responsibility of you and your group to judge the suitability of each area in which you ski/snow shoe. If you or any of your group ski/snowshoe in an area recommended by Alpinia Limited, Alpinia Limited will not be liable for any injuries how so ever caused.
b) It is requested that all members of the group partaking in Winter sports have suitable cover with their insurance policy.


13. GENERAL
a) Heading within these booking conditions are for reference purposes only and all images are intended to give a general impression only.
b) The Lodge is not to exceed 10 guests in total, and you shall not bring any animals into the Lodge.
c) Check in times for the Lodge is 16.30 and check out is 11.00am. Earlier access will only be allowed if the Lodge is not occupied the previous week.
d) You may not sub-let your rental of the Lodge unless previously agreed with Alpinia Limited.
e) These booking conditions and any matters arising from them are subject to and governed under English law.
Alpinia Limited is registered in England.
